The method of high-altitude repair for broken strands of ACSR

ACSR is made of twisted aluminum wire and steel wire, suitable for overhead transmission lines. The inside of it is a steel core, and the outside is twisted with aluminum wires around the steel core; the steel core mainly plays the role of increasing the strength, and the aluminum stranded wire mainly plays the role of transmitting electric energy.

If the steel-reinforced aluminum strand is broken, the repair method can be carried out in the following steps:

  1. Install a wire fixture at both ends near the twisted wire where the broken aluminum wire occurs, and then use a tightening tool (such as a chain hoist) to close the two fixtures, so that the twisted wire changes from a tensioned state to a tensioned state. The arc is in a relaxed state, and the broken strand is located inside the midpoint of the stranded wire in the relaxed state; if the stranded wire section of the broken strand has not been tensioned, or if it has been tensioned, but the surface strands of the conductor are relatively loose, it can be omitted In the above steps, it is not necessary to install wire clips and tighten them.
  2. Use a file to trim the two ends of the broken aluminum wire so that the ends are tapered and chamfered, and then use a die to process a positive thread at one end and a reverse thread at the other end, and clean it with a solvent thread.
  3. Clean the thread of a prefabricated aluminum repair pipe with a small outer diameter and two ends of the inner hole with the same thread specifications as the end of the broken aluminum wire, one reverse and one positive female thread, and coat it with electric High fat, and then use the repair tube to screw the two ends of the broken strands together, so that the broken strands can be connected into a line segment and restored to the original length.
  4. Use a special press pliers to crimp the two ends of the repair pipe to deform the thread of the repair pipe to prevent the threaded connection from loosening. After pressurization, loosen the tightening tool to restore the twisted wire to its original state and complete the repair work.
During the erection and operation of the steel-cored aluminum stranded wire of the overhead transmission line, due to various reasons, the aluminum wire often breaks. The technical difficulty of butt jointing of broken strands is relatively difficult, which can be effectively solved by the above method, and this method is simple, reliable in quality, and the shape of the wire is basically unchanged.
