The Aluminum Conductor Alloy Reinforced (ACAR) is used to replace the steel core and part of the aluminum wire in the common ACSR. The external aluminum wire of the conductor is the same as that of the common ACSR. Under the condition of equal total cross-section, the DC resistance of aluminum alloy core is less than that of ordinary steel cored aluminum strand due to the replacement of steel core with aluminum alloy core.
The high strength aluminum magnesium silicon aluminum alloy with 53% IACS is used to replace the 9% IACS steel core and part of the aluminum wire in the common ACSR. The outer aluminum wire of the conductor can be the same as that of the common ACSR. In order to further reduce the conductor resistance and improve the energy-saving benefit, the outer aluminum wire of aluminum alloy cored aluminum strand can use 61.5% ~ 63% IACS conductivity duralumin as required.
Under the condition of equal total cross section, the DC resistance of aluminum alloy cored wire is smaller than that of steel cored wire. At the same time, aluminum alloy cored aluminum strand is a single aluminum matrix material, which can avoid the power loss caused by hysteresis loss and eddy current loss, and has no electrochemical corrosion of multi metals. Compared with steel cored aluminum strand, its corrosion resistance is improved.
